Why this exists

You already know you need one. The appointments are the problem.

Grinding at night is not subtle once the damage starts. You wake with a tight jaw, a dull headache behind the temples, teeth that feel flat or sensitive at the edges. If you have veneers, crowns or bonding, the stakes are higher — you are wearing down work you paid for.

Almost everyone who ends up here was told to get a guard months ago. The reason it did not happen is not money. It is that the conventional route costs two appointments inside working hours, and those hours are not available.

So we removed the appointments instead of the treatment.

How it works

Three steps. You never sit in a waiting room.

Step 01

Call or WhatsApp

Tell us what you need and we confirm availability, often for the same day. About two minutes.

Step 02

A dentist scans you

A GDC-registered clinician comes to your home, office or hotel and takes a digital 3D intraoral scan with a 3Shape TRIOS 5. Around 5–10 min. No trays, no putty, nothing to gag on.

Step 03

Your guard is delivered

The guard is not fitted at the visit. It is manufactured from your scan and delivered to you. We confirm the exact delivery date when you book, before you commit to anything. If the fit needs adjusting after you have worn it, that is included.

The scan

A digital scan is not a convenience shortcut. It is the more accurate method.

Traditional impressions capture your teeth in a tray of setting material. Distortion is possible at every stage — the pull, the transport, the pour.

  • Captured directly as a 3D digital model, with nothing to distort in transit
  • The clinician sees the scan build live and rescans any area immediately
  • No gag reflex, no setting time, no second impression when the first fails
  • Your model is stored, so a replacement can be produced without scanning again

The obvious question

Why not the £30 one from the pharmacy?

Sometimes it is enough. It depends how hard you grind and what you have in your mouth already.

A pharmacy guard is softened in hot water and shaped by you, at home, to an approximate form. It is not balanced to how your jaw actually moves. That is why so many end up in a drawer: bulky, loose, uneven under pressure, impossible to sleep in. A guard you do not wear protects nothing.

What you are paying for here is a registered dentist, a clinical scanner, a guard built to your teeth rather than moulded by you, and a named person to call if it is not right. If you clench occasionally, an off-the-shelf guard may genuinely do. If you grind heavily, or you have veneers, crowns or bonding to protect, it usually will not.

We will tell you if you do not need this. It happens.

Who turns up

Every scan is taken by a GDC-registered dentist. Here they are.

Each number below is a live entry on the General Dental Council register. You can check any of them at gdc-uk.org before you book, and we would rather you did.

You will be told which clinician is attending before the appointment, not on the doorstep. If that changes, we tell you in advance.

Pricing

One price. Nothing added afterwards.

A private practice charges broadly the same for a custom night guard, and asks you to attend twice inside working hours. The difference here is where the appointment happens, not what you pay for it.

All London postcodes

Central, north, south, east and west. Home, office or hotel — whichever is easier on the day. Tell us the postcode and we will confirm.

Same-day where possible

Depends on clinician availability and lab capacity. Phone is the only reliable way to know what today looks like.

Early and late slots

Appointments outside standard hours are often available, which is usually the entire reason people call us.

Before you book

Questions people actually ask.

Is it a real dentist, or a technician?

A dentist registered with the General Dental Council. Three clinicians work with us and all three numbers are published on this page so you can check them on the GDC register yourself. You will know who is attending before the appointment.

Do I have to visit a dental practice at any point?

No. The clinician travels to you for the scan, and the finished guard is delivered. There is no waiting room and no second appointment to fit it.

Is the guard fitted at the appointment?

No — and this is the part worth being clear about. The appointment is the scan only. Your guard is manufactured afterwards from that scan and delivered to you. You are told the exact delivery date at the point of booking.

What if it does not feel right?

Contact us as soon as you notice, rather than persevering with something uncomfortable. Aftercare support is included and we will advise on adjustment. A guard you stop wearing protects nothing.

How long does the appointment take?

Around 5–10 min for the scan itself. Allow about twenty minutes in total including the questions the clinician needs to ask first.

What is the guard made from?

A dental-grade biocompatible material intended for overnight wear, produced to your digital scan. It is not the soft rubbery plastic used in boil-and-bite or sports guards.

Which type of guard will I get?

The clinician recommends the design that suits your grinding pattern and bite rather than applying one option to everyone. Heavy grinders are usually better suited to a durable guard with a softer inner surface; lighter clenchers may suit a thinner design. If a previous dentist recommended a particular type, tell us and we will work to that.

Is this suitable for jaw pain or TMJ?

If you have pain, locking or severe symptoms, see a dentist or specialist who can examine and diagnose you. This is a custom protective night guard service. It does not diagnose or treat TMJ disorders and we will say so on the phone if that is what you describe.

Can I claim it on insurance?

Some policies cover custom night guards and some do not. We can provide an itemised receipt showing the treatment and the registered clinician; whether it is reimbursed is between you and your insurer.

How quickly can I actually get one?

It depends on appointment availability and lab capacity on the day, so phone or WhatsApp is the fastest way to find out. Urgent replacements — a lost or broken guard before travelling — are worth calling about directly.
